Yes, as much as I use in ironically via LOL type things, having text messaging infect our language is obviously another sign of the Doom of Man(tm).

Did you ever see the one Superman: TAS episode when Chameleon Boy, Saturn Girl and Cosmic Boy followed Brainiac to the past where his plan was to kill teenage Clark Kent? It had one of the best lines.

SG: This may be strange to you, but you will grow up to be Earth's mightiest champion: Superman!
CK: Who?
CB: You know! Superman! (morphs into Superman)
CK: Red underwear on the outside? Now I know you guys are crazy!

Another reason Superman should change his outfit to his 'Justice Lords' outfit! Get with the times, Supes!

I wept openly when they stuck poor Cham in that horrible Elfquest chainmail debate club thing again after fifty bleeping years. Not that the red-purple or purple-yellow Elfquest leotard thing was any better. No wonder the poor guy only got action once in about half a century.

OTOH, his costume in the cartoon was pretty cool.
